Inesh Fulton is discovering exactly what it means to work as a digital marketer.
Last month, the Career and Community Studies (CCS) junior began working part-time as a digital marketing intern in the EHHS Marketing and Communications office in White Hall, where he supports the college on a variety of promotional activities.
“I like how the [CCS] program helps you learn and get prepared for things,” he said.
Two days per week, Inesh fulfills his love for social media by boosting engagement on the EHHS Instagram account, perusing the app to find accounts to follow, selecting pictures to post, and ‘liking’ photos posted by other users.
Inesh also runs the CCS Instagram and Facebook accounts, not to mention his personal Instagram account that is chock full of family pictures and vacation photos.
On the EHHS Instagram account, he posted pictures of his CCS classmates at the start of the school year. Another post shows students in an early childhood education class seated in a circle on the floor, laughing, clapping their hands and slapping their knees in unison while singing children’s songs. A third post is a group photo of participants at the Ohio Latino Affairs Summit, a conference that brought hundreds of faculty, staff and students to the Kent Campus. The combination of posts garnered hundreds of likes.
“I want to learn as much about social media as I can by the end of the semester,” he said. “I believe this position can help me with future jobs after I’m done with college.”
Inesh provided considerable assistance in the library recording studio by crafting questions and conducting interviews for the inaugural podcast of “Inclusive Insights,” a program hosted by CCS that recounts the everyday lives of college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
After completing ҹ糡’s CCS program, Inesh is considering a career in education. But because he was bitten by the soccer bug (he played from kindergarten through high school), Inesh would also like to instruct kids on the ins and outs of different sports.
“I want to be a head soccer coach, but I would probably have to work my way up,” he said. “I also want to get involved with intramural sports and a fraternity.”
