Pratyusha Ghanta’s presentation "Stopping Lung Cancer in its Tracks" earned her third place in ��ҹ�糡’s fall 2023 Three Minute Thesis competition. 

New Wave ’80s band Devo isn’t just from Ohio. Devo wasn’t just created in Akron. Devo was forged at ��ҹ�糡 under the pressure of the turmoil of the late ’60s and the events surrounding May 4, 1970. Authors David Giffels and Jade Dellinger brought their book “The Beginning Was the End: Devo in Ohio” to ��ҹ�糡 for a book signing and discussion.

In 1991, Carol A. Cartwright, Ph.D., made history when she was named president of ��ҹ�糡, becoming not only ��ҹ�糡’s first female president, but also the first woman to serve as president of any Ohio public college or university.  

Professor of psychological sciences Mary Beth Spitznagel has experienced the burden of caregiving for her beloved dog, Allo, who developed bladder cancer. This influenced her research into how a pet with chronic illness can affect caregivers.
