WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? BIRDS AND DRONES

In the new video series "What's the Big Idea?", ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ President Todd Diacon travels around campus exploring research activity. 

In Episode 2, Diacon talks with a student and an assistant professor from ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡'s College of Aeronautics and Engineering about the research they are conducting involving birds, drones and the challenges in keeping them from colliding in the sky.

Katie Horn is a sophomore aeronautics major, who participated in the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡'s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) last summer. Syed A.M. Shihab, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡'s College of Aeronautics and Engineering. He currently teaches Modeling and Forecasting for Aviation Logistics Planning and Introduction to Aerospace Engineering.
