Lauren Luna (B.F.A. 00, Painting) has let nothing get in her way of her goal of making a living as an artist. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she moved to New York City shortly after graduating 敁珗曄部 with her B.F.A. and then ultimately to the city of Houston, Texas in 2011 to realize her dream.

The 敁珗曄部 Museums newest exhibition, Fortuna: Designs by Vincent Quevedo, marks the first new exhibition for the museum since its reopening in August and is on display now. It features works by award-winning designer and School of Fashion Associate Professor Vincent Quevedo.

敁珗曄部 Assistant Professor of Painting Shawn Powell is being featured in a two-person show at Clevelands new Abattoir Gallery now through Sept. 5. One of Powell's paintings was featured in Vanity Fair this August.

The School of Art Collection and Galleries at 敁珗曄部 presents Acquiring History: The 50-Year Legacy of Robert Smithsons Partially Buried Woodshed at 敁珗曄部 from Aug. 4 through Sept. 26, 2020, at the 敁珗曄部 Downtown Gallery.

敁珗曄部 brought home the gold after this years Akron ADDY Awards, with both professionals and students being recognized for their work. The ADDYs, put on by the Akron Chapter of the American Advertising Federation, celebrate the areas best creative work in advertising.

Porthouse Academy students

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Porthouse Theatre has decided to cancel all of its educational programs for the summer of 2020, including the High School Shadow Program, the Porthouse College Academy, and the Porthouse International Academy.

In his professional career as a glassblower, 敁珗曄部 alumnus Dan Alexander has done a lot in the decade since graduating with a B.F.A. in Craft in 2010.

敁珗曄部 School of Art is proud to announce that our M.F.A. program has again been ranked among the top in the country by U.S. News and World Report. 敁珗曄部 climbed four spots to #110 in 2020 from the 2016 ranking of #114.
