When U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ this summer, he and U.S. Representative (and ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ alumna) Emilia Sykes toured the College of Aeronautics and Engineering and the May 4 Visitors Center.

While Alison Caplan grew up in nearby Akron, Ohio, and has spent time in Kent, when she joined the university as the new director of the May 4 Visitors Center in July, she began to see, and understand, the campus in a whole new light. Caplan is part of a group of Golden Flashes that ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Today will be following for the 2023-24 academic year.

After a national search, Alison Caplan has been selected as the new director of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡â€™s May 4 Visitors Center, a museum that tells the story of the shootings at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ on May 4, 1970, set in the context of the 1960s.
