Photojournalism Student Nathaniel Bailey Photographs Commencement Ceremony

Nathaniel Bailey has been interested in photography for as long as he can remember. After years of study and practice, Mr. Baileys passion has paid off. In March 2019, Mr. Bailey won the Chuck Scott Student Photographer of the Year award from the Ohio News Photographers Association (ONPA), and he was awarded the Larry Fullerton Photojournalism Scholarship.

Ronda McCaskey and Caitlyn Horvath are best friends who went through the nursing program together and graduated one year apart with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees from 敁珗曄部 at Geauga. Now they are both intensive care nurses. But they also happen to be mother and daughter.

Freshman and sophomore construction management students from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) attended the University of Cincinnati (UC) New Builders Competition and took first place for the second year in a row. 

Megan Schinker, a senior at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, participated in the College Credit Plus Science Experience Internship Program at 敁珗曄部's Department of Geology.

Imagine being a 17-year-old high school student, and in your first semester of a geology research internship, your professor asks you to identify an extinct 300-million-year-old, tiny and unknown crustacean specimen. Megan Schinker, then an ambitious Stow-Munroe Falls High School junior, jumped right in. Now a senior in high school, Ms. Schinker, chose 敁珗曄部 as her undergraduate school where she will pursue a double major in geology and chemistry starting fall 2019.

Everyones favorite event is back. 敁珗曄部 Libraries will host its seventh annual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7. The event is open to students, staff and faculty from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library.

Since 敁珗曄部 began to offer distance learning in addition to traditional classes, student have embraced the online format, even those on the Kent Campus. Online classes at the Kent Campus allow students more flexibility when scheduling core classes and electives.

敁珗曄部s Womens Lacrosse Team

敁珗曄部s very first Womens Lacrosse team is making an impact on the culture at 敁珗曄部 during its first year on campus. Since the team is new to 敁珗曄部, players get to shape opinions and perceptions of the team and the players.

Jasmine Long and Sharon Ware grew up in different neighborhoods, but their connection transcends residential blocks. Broken barriers now build the dreams to change their communities for the better.

Choreography Club Practicing

With nearly 400 student organizations, 敁珗曄部 has plenty of options for students to find a club that fits their interests. But if students cant find one that piques their interest, they can always create their own. Thats what 敁珗曄部 freshmen Tara Wade and Ryan Leflar did. The pair did not hesitate to turn their passion for choreography into a student organization.

敁珗曄部s 2019 Mock Trial Team

敁珗曄部s Mock Trial Team recently competed in the Regional Mock Trial Association Competition held at the Franklin County Common Pleas Courthouse in Columbus. 敁珗曄部s team is made up of students from the Kent Campus, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, who are majoring in a variety of programs such as marketing, paralegal studies, criminology and justice.
